In the fall, William and Michaela invited me to their home in Leonardtown, MD after welcoming their son. Michaela is the incredibly talented artist behind Days of May Florals, and I had admired her work for several years before we collaborated on an editorial garden maternity shoot last summer.

Warmth. Intimacy. Tenderness.

For this session, we traded portraits amongst fig trees and daisies, for newborn snuggles on the couch and feedings next to the tiny potted geranium. Outside, it was a gloomy autumn afternoon and we worried about the light, but soon we were lost in conversation (and in Harry's sweetness)...talking about formula and sleepless nights, Polaroid film and parenthood. By the end, the early evening light was pouring through their bedroom window.

We made photos on digital and Polaroid film. We made photos full of warmth, intimacy, and tenderness. But most importantly, we made photos that told their story...the story of how the Morans became a family of three.
